My Talks

My Talks: Everything is Story

Our stories are important. Understanding them and releasing the parts that no longer apply can be a powerful conduit for change. This is a change we can effect not only for ourselves but for our communities, our organisations, our world and our collective future.

My talks explore themes of identity, overcoming challenges and understanding their meaning in our lives.  Life has to have meaning … and it was meant to be fun!

I have been in the public eye for most of my life now. People have a certain idea of someone in the public eye. We think ” they cannot possibly have the same struggles as me.  They are above it all. ”   Not so, my friends.  In my Inspiration Talks I talk about the experiences which have shaped me and I talk about how not dealing with my pain around some of these led me to find coping mechanisms which at first saved me and then came to entrap me.

My talks are candid and engaging and they are always accompanied by music. Some songs you will know and some you will come to love.  I speak to everyone. Contact me as a speaker at your event, your gathering and your school.

“Zolani Mahola tells her amazing life story, detailing with such grace and humor how she grew up in the last throes of Apartheid and came of age at the time of South Africa’s transformation. Through her powerful original music and beautifully crafted storytelling, we follow her life as she becomes one of South Africa’s greatest contemporary musicians.” Jackie May, Twyg

An African treasure, Zolani has stood on some of the biggest stages around the world, alongside some of the most powerful personalities on the planet. And so, it was an extraordinary privilege to host Zolani on the Heavy Chef stage, hearing her amazing story, listening to Zolani weave her iconic back catalogue, as well scintillating new songs, into the fabric of her own story, a parable for the South African story at large.Fred Roed - Founder and CEO Heavy Chef
